A team of surgeons in the USA have performed a penis transplant procedure on a patient that suffered an accident followed by a penile cancer diagnosis. The discovery of the fatal penile cancer led to the necessary amputation of the patient's penis. Three years after the amputation procedure, surgeon contact the patient to offer the experimental procedure.  The patient agreed and the surgeons soon completed the 15 hour operation. Although the patient required anti rejection drugs, he is optimistic that he can regain 75% of his previous capabilities.
