This is a common question that patients have when thinking if laser hair removal is right for them. Human hair has different stages of growth and with current technology, you are only able to target the hair that is in a certain stage. As you can see from the graphic below, hair can be in 3 different stages of growth. The anagen, categen, and the telogen phase.

Laser hair removal works by targeting the hairs that are in the Anagen phase. This means that when a patient receives a laser session, you are not able to target 100% of the hairs. Because of this, patients will need to return several times to be able to get the rest of the hairs that will be in the anagen phase.

This is the reason why multiple laser hair removal sessions are required to get successful results.
